We are here to make disciples and help people really know who God is, equip and empower believers to bring the hope of Jesus to our community and beyond through love, service, and authentic relationships.

Raul and Shelli Have a Heart for Ministry

Raul and Shelli have been married for over 30 years and have been involved in ministry and leadership roles for over 25 of them. Whether it be in men’s, women’s, young adult, youth, and children ministries alike. One of their desires is to manifest the love of God into their community by loving God and Loving others as themselves.

A Life of Service

Raul retired from the army after serving for 20 years. He began his career as a private and moved through the ranks, serving in leadership positions as Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, Drill Sergeant and First Sergeant. All of these positions have helped him to develop great leadership qualities with the ability to lead men and women soldiers and help them to be their best and walk in integrity in all that they do. Not only as a soldier, but as a husband/wife, a son/daughter, a sister/brother and simply a friend. The last 30 years has prepared Raul to pastor Riverside Fellowship.

A Woman of Excellence

During Raul’s service, Shelli supported military families through leadership of Family Readiness Groups, helping families of those deployed navigate deployments with strength and balance. Her compassion and experience now equip her to serve the church and community as a pastor’s wife.

Riverside Fellowship has a long history of service in Hammond, OR

We believe God is still at work today.

Riverside Fellowship started in 1953 at Hammond Gospel Mission

Our current building was built in 1969.

We are a planted next to the Columbia River

In 2026 we became Riverside Fellowship of Hammond.

I love Riverside Fellowship. It’s been my church home since 2011. The family atmosphere, simple heartfelt worship, good solid preaching, prayer ministry for salvation and healing, vacation Bible school, monthly and weekly shared meals and fellowship. As a recent widow I have received practical support and help as needed.

I was first led to Hammond Gospel Mission in 1962 (now Riverside Fellowship) by a family friend, Silas Jones when my husband’s ship went to war, and me with 5 kids would come to my parents in Warrenton for the summer and church. my husband retired from the Navy in 1970, and in ‘73 God told me to come here so I’ve obeyed him and stayed!

A bunch of them came looking for me because I was isolated and they came looking to see why I was missing. They helped me refocus. Authenticity

Riverside Fellowship has a long history of service in the community of Hammond, Oregon. The church began with a belief that God still works today, just like he did in the New Testament with signs and wonders. That belief has continued to this day.

We are located on the North Coast of the Pacific Ocean and the southern shores of the Columbia River, near Historic Fort Stevens and the Lewis and Clark trail. We had our humble beginnings as Hammond Gospel Mission. In 1953 Hammond Gospel Mission became Philadelphia Church of Hammond. The current building was built in 1969-70.

Throughout our long history, there were several prophetic words that we were a Gateway to the North West and the rest of the United States. In 2026 we became Riverside Fellowship of Hammond. Although the name has changed, we are still a church of brotherly love with a mission to bring the gospel to Hammond. Birthed in prayer and service to the Lord and the community, Riverside Fellowship has endured through many trials and tribulations, and remains to this day, through the grace of God and His will for the growth of the church.

Riverside Fellowship stands as a symbol of hope and strength to the members and the community. Our desire is to see the Lord Jesus magnified and worshipped here in Hammond, Warrenton, Clatsop County and throughout the world. Manifesting the Love of God to Our Community.
